Bengaluru: Former Union Minister Mallikarjun Kharge is likely to be the next KPCC President.
The Congress High Command which is mulling to replace incumbent KPCC Chief Dr. G. Parameshwara, is said to be intent on appointing another dalit leader for the post and Senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge may get the post, according to reliable sources.
Kharge, who was the Congress Parliamentary leader in the Lok Sabha, was recently replaced by young leader Jyotiraditya Scindia.
The Congress High Command which has planned to utilise the services of Kharge, who was effective as Congress Parliamentary leader, may announce his name as KPCC Chief anytime now, the sources said.
Adding credence to speculations about Kharge’s appointment, Dr. Parameshwara, who was summoned by the Congress High Command, may leave for New Delhi today, it is learnt.
