Man allegedly kills wife

Mysore/Mysuru: A man allegedly killed his wife by slitting her throat with a knife at Jayadeva Nagar in city on Tuesday night. The deceased has been identified as Kabiri (38) and the accused husband is 43-year-old Pramod Kumar, who has been arrested by Metagalli Police.

A native of Odisha, Pramod, through one Vikram, had joined JK Tyres in city as temporary employee since eight months. Pramod had taken a house on rent at Jayadeva Nagar and was staying there with his wife Kabiri and a 14-year-old son. It is learnt that Pramod was upset over his wife’s behaviour and had advised her to mend her ways many times but in vain. Depressed over this, Pramod, on Tuesday night, when everyone were fast asleep, killed his wife, Police said.

Metagalli Inspector A. Mallesh and staff, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, shifted the body to the mortuary, registered a case and arrested the accused.

Vijayanagar Sub-Division ACP S.E. Gajendra Prasad visited the spot.
