Mysuru: City Crime Branch (CCB) Police, on Dec.7, have arrested a 30-year-old man, who was stealing laptops and cell phones from hostels and Paying Guest (PG) accommodations in city. The arrested person is D.A. Rangaswamy, a native of Darasaguppe village, Srirangapatna taluk in Mandya, who was staying at Sathagalli 2nd Stage in city.
During interrogation, the accused is said to have confessed of stealing laptops and cell phones at various hostels and PG accommodations in Chennai and in city in the guise of a student. Based on the information provided by the accused, the CCB Police have recovered nine laptops and 29 cell phones worth about Rs.5.25 lakh from him.
DCP Dr. Vikram V. Amathe and CCB ACP B.R. Lingappa supervised CCB Inspector R. Jagadish, ASIs Chandregowda & Alexander and staff C. Chikkanna, M.R. Ganesh, Lakshmikanth, Ramaswamy, Shivaraju, Yakub Shariff, Asgar Khan, Rajendra, Niranjan, Prakash, Anand, Anil and Chamundamma in the nabbing and recovery operation, according to the PRO, Police Commissioner’s Office.
