Man arrested for stealing laptops

Mysore/Mysuru: Hebbal Police have arrested a man on charges of stealing laptops from Paying Guest (PG) accommodations and houses in city and have recovered seven laptops worth Rs. 2.22 lakh, two mobile phones and Rs. 2,000 cash from him.

Hebbal Police, who had received complaints regarding seven laptops and three mobile phones stolen from Easy Living PG accommodation in Hebbal Industrial Area and in two houses on 5th Cross and another house in Hebbal 1st Stage, formed a special Police team to nab the person behind the thefts.

On June 6, following information about the accused, Hebbal Police took a man into custody near Suburban Bus Stand and interrogated him during which the accused is said to have confessed of stealing laptops and mobile phones from the PG and houses.

Based on the information provided by the accused, the Police have recovered seven laptops and two mobile phones worth Rs.2.22 lakh besides seizing Rs. 2,000 cash from the accused.

The Cops have launched a hunt to nab his accomplice, who has gone absconding.

DCP (Crime and Traffic) S. Jahnavi and Vijayanagar Sub-Division ACP Gajendra Prasad guided Hebbal Inspector E.V. Vinay, Sub-Inspector K.S. Bhaskar, Assistant Sub-Inspector R.T. Ganesh and staff Ravikumar, Veerabhadraiah, Harish, N. Venkatesh, Mahesh Hosamani, Subhanallah Baldar, Avinash and Technical Wing’s P. Kumar, took part in the nabbing and recovery operation.
