Mysore/Mysuru: Nazarbad Police, have arrested a man on charges of stealing a 70 gram gold mangalya chain of his relative.
The arrested is 33-year-old S. Santosh Kumar, a resident of KHB Colony in Hootagalli.
Santosh had accompanied his relative (uncle’s daughter) to a garment shop near Mysuru Zoo during which the relative had given her vanity bag to Santosh. It was then Santosh had allegedly lifted the 70 gram gold mangalya chain worth Rs. 3.5 lakh from the vanity bag. After returning home, when Santosh’s relative found the gold chain missing from the vanity bag, she immediately lodged a complaint.
Nazarbad Police, who had registered a case, arrested Santosh near Hinkal Signal on Thursday morning and brought him to the Police Station. During interrogation, accused Santosh is said to have confessed of stealing the gold mangalya chain from his relative’s vanity bag and based on the information provided by the accused, the Police have recovered the stolen gold mangalya chain from him.
DCP M.S. Geetha Prasanna and Devaraja Sub-Division ACP Shashidhar supervised Nazarbad Inspector G.N. Srikanth, Sub-Inspector M.L. Siddesh, ASI Krishna and staff H.V. Madhukesh, B.V. Prakash, P. Chethan, Sandesh Kumar, Kiran Rathod, H.S. Chethan and Sowmya in the nabbing and recovery operation.
