Mysore/Mysuru: The Nazarbad Police who arrested a thief, have recovered 72 grams of gold jewellery worth Rs. 4,75,000 stolen from him, in a Kalyana Mantap at Siddartha Layout in the city.
Following a complaint that gold jewellery was stolen from the vanity bag of a woman who had come to attend a marriage at Kanaka Bhavan choultry in Siddartha Layout on May. 31, the Police picked up a man who was wandering around in a suspicious manner near the choultry itself on Vinaya Marga in Siddartha Layout the same night (May. 31). During interrogation, the man spilled the beans on having stolen gold jewellery kept in a vanity bag in the choultry, following which the Police recovered 72 gram gold jewellery worth Rs. 4.75 lakh from him.
The nabbing and recovery operation was carried out by Nazarbad Police Inspector M. Mahadevaswamy, PSI Srinivas Patil and staff.
