Mysuru: Mysuru South Rural Police have arrested a person for killing his wife by strangling her at Sathagalli here on Sunday night.
The accused has been identified as Madesh, a resident of Dr. Ambedkar Colony, while his wife has been identified as Ashvini (26).
Madesh, who suspected his wife’s character, allegedly strangled her with his hands when the children had gone to sleep.
Ashvini, a resident of Kuri Mandi in N.R. Mohalla, was given in marriage to Madesh about six years ago. But, Madesh, who was suspecting her character, used to quarrel with his wife frequently, it is learnt.
Mysuru South Rural Police SI Jayaprakash and staff, who rushed to the spot on receiving information yesterday, conducted mahazar, shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary for post-mortem and arrested Madesh, who had gone absconding after committing the crime.
