Mysuru: A man committed suicide by hanging self after the body of his daughter-in-law was found in Varuna Canal here yesterday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Ramesh (55), a native of Palahalli in Mandya district but was residing in Shyadanahalli here along with his son Puneeth and daughter-in-law Rukmini.
Puneeth, who works in a factory here, had married Rukmini about three months ago. On Oct. 27, Puneeth and Rukmini, had a quarrel and Rukmini is said to have left the house in a huff following which Puneeth had lodged a missing complaint with Metagalli Police.
The Mysuru Rural Police, on Wednesday night found the body of Rukmini (24) floating in Varuna Canal near Gorur village and fished out the body.
Police said that Ramesh committed suicide by hanging self fearing action after his daughter-in-law’s body was found in the canal.
Meanwhile, Pratap, the brother of Rukmini who blamed Puneeth for Rukmini’s death, has lodged a complaint with Mysuru Rural Police who are investigating.
