Mysore/Mysuru: Three youths, who had gone absconding after committing a murder have been arrested by Vijayanagar Police at a village near Channrayapatna in Hassan district on Friday night.
Those arrested are Sagar, Pratap and Manju, residents of Belavadi in the taluk. They were hiding in a sericulture shed in the village when they were arrested by Vijayanagar Police Station Inspector Ravishankar and staff.
After conducting preliminary investigation, the three accused were produced before a Court which remanded them to two days Police custody for further investigation. Inspector Ravishankar said that the accused will be taken for spot mahazar and after collecting necessary information, the three accused will again be produced before the Court on Tuesday morning.
The three accused had brutally murdered Hemanth alias Swamy of Belavadi on Friday at about 7.30 pm for objecting his sister’s love affair. The three accused, not only stabbed and hacked Swamy, but also bludgeoned him with a concrete block before absconding.
Vijayanagar Police had seized Swamy’s bike and lethal weapons which were found on the crime spot besides launching a hunt to nab the accused. Sagar, one of the accused, was in love with Hemanth’s sister who is an engineering student and Swamy had objected to it which became the motive for the murder.
