Man sells car for Rs. 28 lakh, robs on pretext of servicing it

Mysore/Mysuru: A man, who sold his car for a businessman, has robbed the same car on the pretext of getting it serviced.

The businessman, who was robbed of his costly car is 32-year-old Syed Khaleem ur Rehaman, a resident of Lashkar Mohalla in city and the person, who sold the car and later robbed it is 29-year-old Adil Khan Durani of Mandi Mohalla.

About a year ago, Syed came to know Durani through Mohammed Zakir, proprietor of T.K. Royal Plastic on C.V. Road.

In the first week of February last, Durani brought an Audi –A7 car  (KA-51-MC-2644) near the office of Zakir, showed the car to Syed and told him that the car was for sale.

Syed, who was interested in the car, purchased it from Durani for Rs. 28 lakh and took the car.

But Durani gave him the photo copies of car documents saying that the original documents were in Bengaluru.

Syed, who drove the car for two days, found that the car engine was getting heated and informed Durani about it. Durani, who came to Syed, took the car saying that he would get it serviced and bring it back. But Durani neither returned the car nor could be contacted, Syed has stated in his complaint to Police.

Narasimharaja (NR) Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
