Mysuru: City’s 5th Additional District and Sessions Court has sentenced a man to life imprisonment after he was found guilty of murdering his wife.
The man, who was sentenced is Nayeem Pasha, a resident of Honnammanakatte village in H.D. Kote taluk. He was accused of doubting his wife Salma Banu and later murdering her by banging her to concrete blocks.
Nayeem and Salma were in love and had got married. They led a happy life for two years and have two children.
Nayeem had assaulted Salma, following which she left the house and was staying with her parents, but Nayeem had brought her back after a few days.
On Dec. 13, 2020, at about 9 am, Nayeem banged Salma to concrete blocks and killed her in his old house and made a small wall fall on her using a crowbar in a bid to conceal the murder.
A case was registered and the then H.D. Kote Circle Inspector Puttaswamy conducted investigation and had submitted a charge sheet to the Court.
The 5th Additional District and Sessions Court Judge Gururaj Somakkalavar, who took up the case, heard arguments from both sides, found Nayeem guilty of the crime and sentenced him to life imprisonment besides imposing a fine of Rs. 10,000.
