Man waiting to commit robbery nabbed

Mysore/Mysuru: Saraswathipuram Police have arrested a man, who was moving around in a suspicious manner and waiting to commit robbery. He was arrested on Aug. 12 evening.

The arrested is 38-year-old Nayeem Khan, who was planning to commit robbery in SBM Layout.

Saraswathipuram ASI Nagaraju and staff Mohan Kumar and Rajesh, who were patrolling the area on Monday evening, received information about a man moving around in a suspicious manner and immediately summoned ASI Papanna, who too was on patrolling duty and went to SBM Layout.

On arriving at the area, the Police saw a man wearing a bag moving in a suspicious manner on the 4th Cross. The man, who saw the Police vehicle approaching him, began to run and Police personnel Nagaraju, Mohan Kumar and Rajesh, who chased him caught hold of the man.

When questioned, the man began to stammer and told different names. Sensing something fishy, the Cops searched his bag and found clothes, screw driver, iron rod, earrings, a coral chain with a pendant and Rs. 800 cash.

On questioning the man further, the Cops came to know that he had burgled a house about a month back and was waiting to burgle lonely houses, sell the booty and go to Andhra Pradesh, Police said. Saraswathipuram Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
