Mandetira Uthappa (85), a resident of Silver Spring Apartment in Hootagalli here, passed away yesterday. He leaves behind his wife, two daughters, sons-in-law and a host of relatives and friends.
Popularly known as Unga Lawyer in Kodagu, Uthappa was the hockey team captain at Madras University where he studied MA Literature and LLB. He had also authored a book on Mandetira history.
Last rites were held at Vijayanagar crematorium this afternoon.
