Manhole work on Dhanvantri Road going on at snail’s pace

Mysuru: The work on the manhole  near Chidambareshwara Temple on Dhanvantri Road is going on at a snail’s pace, allege the shopkeepers and the public in the area.

This road is busy throughout the day and vehicular    movement is also heavy. Besides, the vehicles are parked on the roadside adding to the existing problem to those   going to K.R. Hospital and Cheluvamba Hospital.

Even though it is months since the manhole has sunk, no steps have been taken to repair it. A report in this regard had been published in Star of Mysore in the month of June itself.

The Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) officials had immediately swung into action and started the repair work.

However, it is progressing at a snail’s pace and in the interest of the public it should be speeded up.

Stench increases: Due to the big pit that is dug up to do the repair work, the sewage water that flows nearby collects here and results in the whole area reeking with smell. Hence, it is very difficult to move around the place, complain the public.
