Mysuru/Mysore: The first transperson to head a Government Academy in Karnataka, Manjamma Jogati (President of Karnataka Janapada Academy), will inaugurate ‘Bahuroopi Janapadostsava’ at Kindarijogi premises in Rangayana today (Feb. 13) at 5 pm, as a prelude to the annual Bahuroopi National Theatre Festival which is scheduled to begin tomorrow.
Sanjeeva Suvarna, Principal, Yakshagana Kendra, Yaksha Gurukula Trust, Udupi, will be the chief guest. Addanda C. Cariappa, Director, Rangayana, Mysuru, will preside. V.N. Mallikarjunaswamy, Joint Director, Rangayana, Mysuru and Geetha Montadka, Convenor, Janapadostsava, will be present.
Later at 5.30 pm, Rajashekhar Murthy and troupe from Chamarajanagar will present Gorava dance followed by Jogathi dance by P. Yellamma and troupe of Hagaribommanahalli, Ballari, at Kindarijogi premises; At 7.30 pm, Yakshagana ‘Veera Abhimanyu’ will be presented by Sri Vinayaka Yakshagana Kalatanda, Makkala Mela Kerekadu, Mulki, Dakshina Kannada, under the direction of Ajith Ameen Kerekadu, at Kalamandira.
Veteran cine actor Anant Nag will inaugurate the Theatre Fest at Vanaranga in Rangayana premises tomorrow (Feb.14).
