Mantap is not blocking traffic signals, Trees are..

Sir,

I read the news item “Dasara decoration: Cause for delight but a word of caution” in yesterday’s Star of Mysore about a Mantap with a lotus design erected at Kurubarahalli Circle (leading towards Chamundi Hill)on Lalitha Mahal Palace Road.

The caption has a remark that the design is masking traffic signals. I travel on the road everyday and it is not true that the design is covering the traffic signals. The design is located in the middle of the huge raised traffic island.

If at all the signals are masked or covered, it is because of the foliage of trees near the signal lights. You may as well ask the Forest Department or Mysuru City Corporation to prune the obstructionist branches and solve the signal light problem if at all.

The design of the Mantap syncs well with the festive occasion and the Chamundi Temple.
