Bengaluru: Reports from Hassan indicate that numerous victims of the alleged sexual assaults by JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna have fled their homes out of fear.
The situation intensified following the arrest of Prajwal’s father, H.D. Revanna, in connection with the abduction of a woman who was reportedly prevented from approaching the SIT responsible for investigating the allegations.
Residents in the district are reportedly apprehensive about speaking out against the influential family, fearing potential repercussions.
The first complaint against Prajwal was lodged on Apr. 28 by a woman who worked as a house help at Revanna’s residence. Since then, multiple families have purportedly left the area due to concerns for their safety.
The distressing situation has deeply affected many women associated with the JD(S), with reports of them removing social media photos with Prajwal and facing scrutiny from their families. The release of video clips exposing the women’s identities has exacerbated the situation, prompting more families to flee the district, according to the report.
