Tricycle jatha by physically challenged tomorrow; Vintage car rally on May 5
Mysore/Mysuru: In a bid to create awareness on the importance of voting, Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) and District Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Committee had organised a marathon in city yesterday.
MCC Commissioner G. Lakshmikantha Reddy flagged of the rally in front of Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple and the runners, comprising MCC officials, students of SDM College and members of various Jain organisations, passed through K.R. Circle and D. Devaraj Urs Road to reach the Office of the Deputy Commissioner (DC).
The students took pictures at the selfie point near the DC’s Office and posted the photos on social media platforms asking everyone to compulsorily vote on May 10.
Zilla Panchayat CEO and District SVEEP Committee Nodal Officer K.M. Gayathri, MCC Executive Engineer Nagaraju, Environmental Engineer Mythri and others took part in the marathon.
Rallies on May 4 and 5
On May 4 at 10 am, physically challenged persons will take out a tricycle rally from ZP premises and on May 5, a vintage car rally will be taken out from the Mysore Palace North Gate at 9 am to create awareness on voting, according to K.M. Gayathri.
