Mysore/Mysuru: City’s Sri Krishna Trust and Sri Krishna Mithra Mandali had organised free mass Upanayana at Sri Krishnadhama in T.K. Layout here on Thursday.
This was followed by a shobha yatre by the vatus (boys) who offered special puja to the Peepal Tree (Arali Mara).
Speaking on the occasion, Sri Krishna Trust Vice President Ravi Shastri said that the free mass upanayana programme was being organised since years for the benefit of trimatastha vipra communities.
“Vedas are a proof of rich knowledge, culture and heritage which have not only been accepted in India but throughout the world as well, he said.
Vidwan Suresh Bhat addressed the and enlightened them about the importance of upanayana. Sri Krishna Mithra Mandali President P.S. Ramesh, Vice President Praveen, Trust Secretary K.V. Sridhar, Srivatsa Rao, P.S. Shekar were present.
