Massive rally to be taken out in Mysuru tomorrow

Mysore/Mysuru: Strongly condemning the defacing of Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna’s statue, defacing of a portrait of Basavanna and burning of Kannada Flag by alleged MES (Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti) activists, several city organisations will take out a massive rally in the city tomorrow, seeking a ban on MES.

Former KR MLA M.K. Somashekar, who chaired a meeting of various Kannada and other organisations at Kanaka Bhavan in Hosabandikeri here yesterday, said that Kuruba associations, Veerashaiva-Lingayat associations, Kannada organisations, Dalit organisations, student associations and women groups have extended support to the rally.

Pointing out that the rally will be taken out from Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple at the Palace North Gate  to the Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) office  tomorrow (Dec. 24) morning, Somashekar said that protests will continue until MES activists, who hurt the pride of Kannadigas, are punished and MES is banned.

Karnataka Kurubara Sangha President B. Subramanya, Sri Krishnarajendra Co-op. Bank Ltd. Vice-President D. Basavaraju (Basappa), Corporator J. Gopi and others were present.
