Mysuru: A preliminary meeting of Basavadi Chintakaru was held recently at Sriranga auditorium in Rangayana premises here in the context of organising an event under the series Matte Kalyana in this 21st century in city on Aug.6 which is reliving the Kalyana Kranthi initiated by Basavadi Sharanaru dating back to 12th century.
The Matte Kalyana event will be organised by Sanehalli Mutt, Hosadurga taluk,Chitradurga district.
Briefing the participants on the details of the event to be held, Dhyanesh of Sanehalli Mutt disclosed that several programmes would be organised in the district from Aug.1 to 30 throughout the State under the series Matte Kalyana which will be held in Mysuru on Aug.6.
Continuing, Dhyanesh said that the programme in city would feature an open interaction with Basavadi Sharanas by a team led by Sri Panditaradhya Shivacharya Swamiji of Sanehalli Mutt, followed by an interaction with college students at 11 am.
The evening programme will have a Harmony Walk with people of all communities followed by the play Sanehalli Shiva Sanchara at 8.30 pm, explained Dhyanesh.
Addressing the meeting, former Rangayana Director H. Janardhan opined that such meaningful programmes would eradicate social evils plaguing the society for years which could also pave way for Vachana Chaluvali.
Progressive Thinkers O.L. Nagabhushana, L. Shivalingappa and others were present.
