Mysuru:‘Trin Trin,’ India’s first Public Bicycle Sharing (PBS) initiative that was supposed to be inaugurated by Chief Minister Siddharamaiah on May 20, has again been postponed to May 29. From the last 8 months, Mysureans have been waiting for the scheme to be a reality.
Speaking to Star of Mysore, Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep said that the inauguration that was in the CM’s original itinerary on May 20 has been put off to May 29.
It may be recalled here that the launch of Trin Trin was postponed several times in the past.
The project was initiated on July 16, 2016 amid much fanfare with the District Minister, MLAs and a host of elected representatives cycling near the Balarama Gate of the Mysore Palace. At that time, it was announced that the city will get the PBS in matter of days and the scheme will have many takers.
The trial run of the project concluded in Dec. 2016 and the scheme was scheduled for launch in Jan. 2017. Trial runs to Chamundi Hill was also organised to popularise the scheme.
