Mysore/Mysuru: Mayor Shivakumar, MCC Commissioner G. Lakshmikantha Reddy and officials yesterday visited Devanur Layout near Sathagalli and inspected the ongoing construction of the 15 lakh litres capacity overhead water tank.
The work was taken up six months ago at a cost of Rs. 2.7 crore under MCC’s 15th Finance grant and the Mayor instructed the Contractor to complete the construction at the earliest by maintaining quality.
The Mayor and the MCC Commissioner also inspected under construction 10 lakh capacity overhead water tank near Kantharaj Park in Mandi Mohalla, which is taken up at a cost of Rs. 2 crore.
The Mayor instructed the officials to see that the construction is taken up as per the approved plan and built without faults within the stipulated time besides asking the officials to see that drinking water is supplied without any glitches to the residents once the work is completed.
MCC Superintending Engineer Mahesh, Executive Engineer Suvarna, Assistant Executive Engineer Mustafa and others accompanied the Mayor and the MCC Commissioner during the inspections.
