Mazdoor Sangh stage protest for universal pension scheme

Mysore/Mysuru: The members of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), Mysuru District Committee, demanding universal pension under EPS95 scheme among others, staged a protest in front of Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) Office at Gayathripuram yesterday morning.

Their main demands include increase in monthly pension from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 5,000, any enhancement in EPS95 as minimum pension fixation be uniformly implemented to all pensioners, all EPS95 pensioners be brought under Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat scheme and fixation of universal pension of 50 percent of the last-drawn salary of retiring employees among others.

The protesting BMS members later submitted a memorandum to EPFO Enforcement Officers K.P. Anand and S. Narang Rao to be forwarded to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

BMS District Secretary Ravibrahma, Vice-President Harish, State Secretary Shanthakumar, other office-bearers Shivalingaiah, Satish, Mahesh, Chandra and others were present.
