Mysuru: Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) had organised a Swachhata Marathon in city on Oct.2, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanthi celebrations and with a call to make Mysuru clean, green and plastic-free.
The 5-km Marathon, which was flagged off at Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple at the Palace North Gate, passed through K.R. Circle, D.D. Urs Road, JLB Road Junction, Ramaswamy Circle, Chamaraja Double Road, Hardinge Circle and culminated at Town Hall.
Nearly 500 participants, including students of schools and colleges, Scouts & Guides, NCC, members of various organisations including GSS, Sports Associations and athletes, took part in the Marathon.
MCC Commissioner Ashaad-Ur-Rahman Shariff, D. Srihari of GSS, MCC Superintending Engineer (SE) K.J. Sindhu, Executive Engineer (EE) Deepak, Chief Health Officer Dr. Venkatesh, Health Officer Dr. Harsha, Environmental Engineers Meenakshi, Mahadevaswamy, Mahadevi, Mythri, Mrutyunjaya, Jyothi, Krishnamurthy, Sridevi, Chinmay & Naveen and all Zonal Officers were present.
