Mysore/Mysuru: In what is probably a first-of-its- kind in the State, the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) has formed mobile teams to vaccinate residents in localities.
Speaking to presspersons here on Friday, MCC Health Officer Dr. Nagaraj said that six mobile teams have been formed, whose job is to visit localities and vaccinate people nearer their home.
Pointing out that Associations and Organisations can call the MCC for vaccination, he said that based on the call, the mobile teams, comprising doctors and other medical staff, will visit localities and vaccinate the residents for free.
Stating that the MCC is making preparations to conduct vaccination drives even at Community Halls and other vast public spaces in localities, he said that the MCC is carrying out the drive by following SOPs. Maintaining that Corporators, local leaders and Associations, have joined hands for this drive, Dr. Nagaraj appealed people to get vaccinated for their own health and safety.
Contending that over 5 lakh people have been vaccinated in the district so far, he reassured the people that vaccines are safe and the people can get vaccinated without any fear.
On the first day of the launch on Friday, the mobile teams visited Agrahara, Basaveshwara road, J.P.Nagar, K.G.Koppal, Vontikoppal and Sardar Vallabhai Patel Nagar for vaccination.
