Mysore/Mysuru: With the polls to the 65-member Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) round the corner, the Election Commission (EC) has directed the Mysuru Deputy Commissioner to prepare Ward- wise electoral rolls.
In a notification issued in this regard, the EC has set the time schedule for ward-wise voter list preparation, as per which the voters in every ward should be identified from Aug. 19 to 24.
The from and to matrix should be prepared from Aug. 25 to 31 and sent to the printers. The first check list of voters must be prepared from Sept. 1 to 4, following which ward-wise voters list must be reviewed and names be included in the electoral rolls along with any changes.
Draft voters list must be published on Sept. 17. Objections, if any, must be received till Sept. 24 and should be disposed of by Sept. 30. The final check list must be prepared by Oct. 6 and the final electoral rolls along with the photograph of voters must be published on Oct.9. This apart, the service voters list must also be published along with it.
The notification further said that the voters must be accurately included in their respective ward electoral rolls, leaving no scope for any discrepancies such as duplication of names. In case, names of more than 1,400 voters are found in a booth, then such voter list must be divided and steps must be taken for establishment of auxiliary booths after obtaining the consent of EC.
The MCC Commissioner should prepare the final electoral rolls and authenticate it, the notification said.
