MCC providing basic facilities to 56 new Layouts: Minister

Mysore/Mysuru: Urban Development Minister Byrati Basavaraj has said that the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) was providing minimum basic facilities to 56 Layouts which were transferred to the MCC from Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) in 2016-17. The urban local body was getting revenue of Rs.5.15 crore from these Layouts.

In his written reply to Sandesh Nagaraj in the State Legislative Council here recently, the Minister said the MUDA had spent Rs. 5 lakh on Madhuvana Layout and Rs. 7 lakh on SBM Housing Society for providing UGD. Likewise, the MCC has spent Rs. 17 lakh on  CFTRI Layout, Rs. 40 lakh on Vani Vilasa Mohalla Housing Society and Rs. 30 lakh from 14th SFC grants on development works. However, no work has been taken out of the Government grant. Street light and drinking water have been provided out of the MCC grants. 

He said MCC’s Civil Works Department has taken up works to provide basic facilities like road, water, UGD and park development, rain water harvesting in Anandnagar, Ashraya Layout, Basaveshwaranagar Layout, CFTRI Layout, AIISH Layout, Sharadadevi Nagar, Niveditanagar, Janatanagar and Yogakshema Housing Society Layout.
