Mysore/Mysuru: In a continued drive against plastic menace, Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Officers seized 804- kg plastic carry bags stocked in a godown on Basaveshwara road in the city yesterday.
Acting on an information, Officers of MCC Health Wing led by Senior Health Officer Dr. D. G. Nagaraj inspected the godown at around 8.15 am and found 804 kgs of plastic bags. A case was booked against the shop and godown owner for stocking the banned materials despite prohibition on using and selling of plastic. Environment Engineers of MCC Jyothi and Shobha, Health Inspector Shivaprasad and staff participated in the raid.
In the similar raids conducted three days ago at the shops on CV Road and Shivarampet, the Officers had seized one tonne of plastic materials.
