Mysore/Mysuru: Saraswathipuram Police have registered a case against two persons on charges of misusing cheque given for security purpose. The Police have registered the case against MCC Senior Medical Officer N.P. Venkatesh and K.T. Keshavamurthy of Hassan, following a complaint from one B.C. Meera, who runs Annapoorna Offset Printers at Saraswathipuram.
In her complaint, Meera has stated that Venkatesh, whom she knew since 2018, had given a couple of registers to be printed and used to pay through a Government cheque after the printing work was completed. There had been enough transactions between the two since 2012.
On Jan. 5, 2022, Meera was asked to supply papers, ink and printing raw materials for which she was paid some money as advance. She said that Venkatesh had obtained a signed blank cheque from her for security.
But after the work was completed, Meera asked Venkatesh to return her cheque for which he began to give reasons following which she had requested the Bank not to honour the cheque given as security.
Meera, in the complaint, has accused Venkatesh of misusing the cheque by obtaining a loan of Rs. 4.5 lakh from Keshavamurthy and giving her cheque to him and getting it bounced from the Bank.
Meera had registered a case against the two at city’s JMFC Court following which the Court ordered Saraswathipuram Police to register a case against Venkatesh and Keshavamurthy.
Saraswathipuram Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
