MCC to call for tenders in fortnight to install LED streetlights

Mysore/Mysuru: Days after the State Government sanctioned Rs.110 crore for installation of LED bulbs for streetlighting in city, MCC Commissioner Gurudatta Hegde said tenders will be invited in a fortnight.

Speaking to presspersons at his office here yesterday, Hegde said that a Powerpoint Presentation was made for Mayor and Corporators on the advantages of LED bulbs installation for streetlights. Pointing out that the Urban Development Department has called a meeting for finalising the terms and conditions of the contract, he said that the tenders will be invited soon if there are no major changes from the normal process.

Noting that the city currently has 9,000 LED bulbs on streetlights, he said that 52,000 more LED bulbs were needed to be installed, by replacing the existing other bulbs.
