With the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) announcing the usual 5 percent rebate on property tax (2024-25) for a month from Apr.1 to 30, the Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) has urged the MCC to extend this rebate for three more months till the end of July.
In a letter addressed to the MCC Commissioner Dr. N.N. Madhu, MCCI President K.B. Lingaraju said that Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagar Palike (BBMP)in an order dated Mar.13, 2024, has announced that the 5 percent property tax rebate within its jurisdiction will be in effect from Apr.1 till the end of July. Likewise, the MCC too should extend the rebate period from the current Apr.30 till July end and thus help the property owners to facilitate payment of taxes by utilising this opportunity, the letter said.
