MDA reclaims land worth Rs. 30 cr. in Vijayanagar

Mysuru, Oct. 18 (RK&BCT)- In a major encroachment clearance and property recovery operation this morning, Mysuru Development Authority (MDA) reclaimed prime land worth Rs. 30 crore in Vijayanagar 3rd Stage. The drive, carried out under the directions of MDA Commissioner K.R. Rakshith and Secretary K. Johnson, was led by Zone-4 Executive Engineer Mahesh at Mysuru Taluk, Kasaba Hobli, Hinkal Survey No. 237/2B and Hinkal Survey No. 238/2, near the Saptamathruka Temple.

In total, 2.20 acres of land were recovered. The current market rate in the area is approximately Rs. 8,000 per sq. ft. Squatters were evicted and illegal structures were demolished using earthmovers under Police protection.

The land had earlier been acquired by the MDA for layout formation, with the original owners compensated Rs. 4.30 crore and having provided written consent. Despite this, they continued to occupy the land and later moved the Court, which ultimately ruled in MDA’s favour.

MDA Assistant Executive Engineer Sunitha, Junior Engineer Sathish Chandra, Revenue Inspector T. Manjunath, and Special Land Acquisition Section Officer Sachin were present during the operation.
