Mysore/Mysuru: The election of new office-bearers and Executive Body of Mysuru District Journalists Association (MDJA) for the period 2020-23 will take place in MDJA premises near Akkana Balaga School on Thyagaraja Road on Nov. 7.
Announcing this at a press meet here on Saturday, senior Journalist and Electoral Officer M.S. Kashinath said that the list of eligible voters will be published on Oct. 18 and the electoral process will be set in motion with the filing of nomination papers from Oct. 22.
The eligible members can file nominations from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm on all days till Oct. 26.
The scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on Oct. 27 at 11 am, following which the list of eligible candidates will be displayed. The deadline for withdrawal of nomination papers is 12 noon on Oct. 29 and subsequently the list of candidates remaining in the fray will be published after 2 pm the same day (Oct. 29).
The polling will take place on Nov. 7 between 8 am and 2 pm, following which the counting of votes will be taken up at 4 pm and the results announced the same evening, Kashinath said.
