Mysuru: Mysuru District Journalists Association (MDJA) had organised a programme at its premises on Tyagaraja Road here yesterday to present Pratibha Puraskar to meritorious children of MDJA members.
The awardees are: A.P. Nayana Priya, Aiman Ahmed Khan and M.S. Adithya Kashyap (II PU); K. Dhamini, Yusur Surur Khan, Nitya S. Aradhya, M. Sujana, H.S. Ranjitha, Poorvika S. Bennur and A. Akhandesh (SSLC). Cash prize of Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 15,000 were presented to SSLC and PUC toppers respectively.
Speaking as the chief guest, Pramathi Hill View Academy Chairman H.V. Rajeev observed that many people study one particular subject but choose a career in another field.
Hence he advised the students to hone their communication skills and general knowledge to fit into any profession. Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC&RI)Chief Administrative Officer K.M. Gayathri, who also spoke, appreciated MDJA in identifying and honouring the students.
She suggested to organise career guidance workshops to help such students. She advised the students not to be satisfied by academic excellence alone but also focus on skill development which is essential. Prerana Academy Secretary Pradeep, MDJA President C.K. Mahendra, General Secretary K.J. Lokesh Babu and others were present.
