Mysuru: “In the field of economy and intellect, what we need today is excellence, not compromise,” opined Littérateur Dr. Baraguru Ramachandrappa.
He was speaking at the day-long National-level seminar on the topic ‘Kannada Movies and Literature: Current Challenges,’ organised by MMK and SDM Women’s College in association with Karnataka Sahitya Academy at SDM College auditorium recently.
“Kannada film industry is now facing a number of challenges today. Some in the industry think that movies of international standards are the best, but what we need today is knowledge, not misconceptions,” he said.
“Kannada film industry is compromising on quality and making money has become its main aim. Only a mindless person can write the kind of lyrics that we are hearing nowadays,” he added.
President of Karnataka Sahitya Academy Dr. B.V. Vasantkumar, resource persons Dr. N.K. Padmanabha, Prof. Rangaswamy, Prof. Mysuru Krishnamurthy, Doddahulluru Rukkoji, College Principal Prof. Sainath Malligemadu, HoD of Electronics Prof. G.R.
