Medical Shop Owners appeal COVID-19 symptomatic patients not to visit Drug Stores

Mysore/Mysuru: With the number of COVID-19 positive cases rising by the day in the city, the Mysuru City and District Retail Chemists and Druggists Association has appealed COVID symptomatic patients not to visit medical shops and instead send their healthy family members or friends for their medicine requirements.

In a press release, the Association, expressing concern over the rapid spike in the number of positive cases in Mysuru and all other parts of the country, said that the Government has issued an order that Medical Shops found to have sold drugs to a symptomatic person, who later tests positive for COVID-19, will be sealed off and all the employees of the shop will be considered as primary contacts and home quarantined. As such, all symptomatic persons are appealed to avoid visiting drug stores, the Association said.

A memorandum in this regard was submitted to the DC yesterday, said Association President M. Raju and Secretary C.K. Arun.

They further said that quality Home Isolation kits are available in select medical shops in almost all localities of the city at an affordable price.
