Mysuru: Mysuru City and District Brahmana Sangha has organised a mega Brahmin’s Convention at Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashrama on Nanjangud Road here on Dec.15 and 16.
Disclosing this at a press meet held at the Sangha office in Chamundipuram here recently, Sangha President D.T. Prakash said that about 25,000 Brahmins are expected to participate in the event who will urge the Government to constitute the proposed Brahmin Welfare Board envisaged by the Chief Minister soon and also to hike the allocation amount from Rs.25 crore to Rs.100 crore. He further said that a ‘Shobha Yatre’ will be taken out from Shankara Mutt to Ganapathy Ashrama on Dec.16 at 8 am accompanied by bhajan and folk troupes.
Prakash said that about 500 members of Brahmana Yuva Vedike would take out a bike rally on Nov.25 from Yoga Narasimhaswamy Temple in Vijayanagar and visit all temples in city to publicise the Convention and then reach Ganapathy Ashrama.
Meritorious Brahmin students would be felicitated during the convention. Stickers and handbills regarding the convention were released on the occasion.
