Mysore/Mysuru: A mega free eye screening and cataract operation camp, organised by Mysore Race Club (MRC) Charitable Trust Eye Hospital, was inaugurated at the Hospital premises in Siddarthanagar here this morning.
The mega camp, sponsored by Raghulal & Co. in memory of Dr. Neelakantan, was inaugurated by Raghulal & Co. Director N. Raghavan by lighting the traditional lamp.
Over 200 people had registered to the camp. Those who are in need of cataract operation or other treatments will be performed for free today. Spectacles and medicines will also be distributed free of cost.
MRC Eye Hospital has been successfully organising free eye camps at least two to three times a year since many years. The recent free eye screening camp was held on Aug. 18 this year and was inaugurated by Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, who was impressed with modern facilities and free public service provided by the Hospital.
MRC Charitable Trust Chairman Y.B. Ganesh presided. MRC Charitable Trust Secretary NHS Mani, Trustees K.M. Chandregowda and Dr. Santhrupth, MRC Committee Members H.K. Ramesh and Jayaraje Urs, MRC Eye Hospital Administrator M. Rahul Dev, Hospital Committee Member R. Guru, Senior Ophthalmologist Dr. M.S. Usha and other doctors were present on the occasion.
