Mega Lok Adalat on Aug.14

Mysore/Mysuru: As part a State-level exercise, the Mysuru District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) will be conducting a Mega Lok Adalat in Mysuru city and district on  Aug.14.

Principal District and Sessions Court Judge M.L. Raghunath, who  also heads the DLSA, said that there are 1,07,172 pending cases in the district, out of which 81,328 cases can be resolved through mediation and reconciliation. 

Pointing out that a total of 10,438 cases, including 3,853 MACT (motor accidents claims tribunal) cases, 3,126 criminal compoundable cases, 728 domestic dispute cases and 141 petty cases, are expected to come up before the Mega Lok Adalat on Aug.14, he said that the Adalat will also take up Bank cheque bounce cases and other land  disputes that can be settled through mediation. 

Noting that the Lok Adalat will be held through both virtual and hybrid mode with observation of all COVID protocols prevalent in the State, Judge Raghunath appealed the people to make best use of this Mega Adalat. Senior Civil Judge Devaraj Bhoothe, who is also the member-Secretary of DLSA and other officials were present at the press meet.
