Mysore/Mysuru: The State-wide Mega Lok Adalat, which was earlier scheduled to take place on Oct. 23, has been advanced to Sept. 30.
Announcing this at a press meet at the New Courts Complex at Malalavadi, Jayanagar, behind Apollo Hospital here this morning, Principal District and Sessions Court Judge M.L. Raghunath, who is also the President of District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), said that following directions from Karnataka State Legal Services Authority, Bengaluru, the Mega Lok Adalat, will now be held on Sept. 30 at all Courts in the city and district.
Pointing out that a total of 7,739 cases are proposed to be taken up for settlement during the Lok Adalat, Judge Raghunath said that these cases include Motor Accident cases, land disputes, cheque bounce cases,criminal cases that are compoundable etc., he appealed the litigants to take part in the Mega Lok Adalat and get their cases settled through mediation, negotiation or counselling and thus save their time and money.
