Mysore/Mysuru: City Scholar T.V. Venkatachala Shastry has been selected for the ‘A. Na. Kru. Prashasti’ instituted by A. Na. Kru. Pratishtana of Bengaluru in memory of Kannada novelist and activist A.Na. Krishnarao while writer Savitha Srinivas (a Police Officer) has been chosen for ‘K.T. Chandrashekar Sahitya Shri Prashasti.’
Addressing a press meet on Tuesday, Pratishtana Trustee G. Ashwathanarayan said that ‘A. Na. Kru. Award’ will carry a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 and ‘K.T. Chandrashekar Sahitya Shri Literary Award’ carries a cash prize of Rs. 10,000.
Stating that the awards ceremony will be held at MVC auditorium (B.M. Sri auditorium) in N.R. Colony in Bengaluru at 10 am on Nov. 14, he added that Kuvempu Bhasha Bharathi Chairman Ajakkal Girish Bhat and writer Sandhya Reddy will present the awards.
Also, marking the golden jubilee celebrations of A.Na.Kru., a book titled ‘Adhamya Chethana’ will be released on the occasion.
Pratishtana Hon. President Ashok Haranahalli will preside. Writers P.V. Narayana and L.G. Meera will take part, said Pratishtana Member S.M. Krishnaraya.
