Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Thyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha Charitable Trust, Mysuru, has organised A.V. Prakash memorial concerts on Saturday and Sunday (Mar. 16 and 17) at Sri Vidyabharathi Prarthana Mandira, Chandramouleeshwara Temple, V.V. Mohalla, at 6 pm.
On Mar.16, Vid. Vivek Sadashivam will present a vocal concert, accompanied by Vidu. Sindhu Suchethan on violin, Vid. Saishivu Lakshmikeshav on mridanga and Vid. Shamith Gowda on ghata.
On Mar.17, Vid. Samrudh Srinivas will perform on flute with support by Vid. C.V. Shruthi, Vid. P. Nataraj and Vid. S. Manjunath on violin, mridanga and ghata respectively.
Artistes’ Profile
Vid. Vivek Sadashivam is a prominent promising young talent of classical music. Hailing from a family of musicians of Dikshitar’s tutelage, he learnt music from his great-grand-father Vid. A. Anantharaman Iyer, Kolkata, grand aunt Vidu. A. Champakavalli and his parents, A. Sadashivam and Revathi Sadashivam. He is also being trained by Vid. R.N. Thyagarajan and Sangeetha Kalanidhi Sanjay Subrahmanyan.
An ‘A’ graded artiste of AIR, he has participated in South Zone and National programmes of Doordarshan and Akashavani.
Vid. Samrudh is a disciple of Vid. A.V. Prakash and later he continued to hone his skills under the tutelage of Vid. A.P. Krishnaprasad. A dedicated protégée of late A.V. Prakash and A.P. Krishna Prasad, his journey with flute began in childhood, laying the foundation for a deep-rooted musical ethos, striving to forge a deep connection with his audience through universal language of music.
