Mysore/Mysuru: The group, led by Kodandaram, bagged a majority of seats in the elections held to the Board of Directors of the Mysore Merchants Co-operative Bank here on Sunday. Kodandaram’s group bagged eight out of the eleven seats, while the group led by Kannan succeeded in winning three seats.
The election was held at Dharmaparayani Alamma Choultry in Shivarampet between 9 am and 4 pm, during which 3,085 out of the 3,719 voters cast their ballots.
Those elected as Directors from Kodandaram group are –N. Anand (1,813 votes), R.P. Krishnamurthy (1,104), B. Kodandaram (1,585), B.R. Nandish (1,429), A. Prabhuprasad (1,248), K. Premkumar(1,342), N. Sudha (1,812) and C.V. Somashekhar (1,638), while those elected from Kannan Group are- N. Kannan (1,271), M.N. Mahesh (1,228) and C.S. Gangambike(1,498).
There were 18 contestants in the fray including three women. K.S. Harishkumar was the Returning officer.
