Mysore/Mysuru: Students, who excelled in the SSLC and PUC examinations, were felicitated at a Pratibha Puraskar event organised by the Karnataka State Licensed Electrical Contractors Association along with the Mysuru District Committee at Samrat Kalyan Mantap, Kuvempunagar, recently.
Speaking after inaugurating, Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) Chairman K. Marigowda emphasised the important role talented students play in national development and advised them to serve the country instead of seeking professional careers abroad.
“Students are the treasure of India. They need to work hard to succeed in this competitive world. Hence, they should focus on their studies to bring happiness to their parents and laurels to the country,” he said.
He also urged contractors to maintain high standards of work to ensure uninterrupted power supply. Responding to the Association’s request for a CA site from MUDA, Marigowda assured them that he would fulfil their demand, provided it is engaged in continuous academic activities.
CESC Chairman and Srirangapatna MLA Ramesh Babu Bandisiddegowda highlighted the shortage of linemen in CESC, which has led to electrical mishaps. “Contractors must immediately respond to electrical mishaps. India has abundant human resources and people from our country hold prestigious positions worldwide. Students must study with perseverance, take advice from their teachers and achieve their goals,” he said.
He also assured that he would make sincere efforts to provide NEET coaching to the children of Association members.
The event was attended by State Electrical Contractors Association’s Hon. President C. Ramesh, District President H.G. Raghavendra, CESC Technical Director Munigopalraju, K.M. Sunil Kumar, A.M. Poornachandra Tejaswi, S.B. Anita and others.
