To discuss innovative ways to celebrate National Consumer Day
Mysore/Mysuru: The monthly meeting of Mysore Grahakara Parishat (MGP) will be held at MGP Office, Vivekananda Road, Yadavagiri, Mysuru, on Dec. 10 (Sunday) at 4 pm.
“In the past, Consumer Day celebration events were held in a ritualistic manner to discuss Consumer Protection Act and to claim that consumers should be treated as kings in private sector and as masters in public sector. But we fail to discuss why the reality is very different,” stated a press release from MGP.
This year MGP has decided to adapt a totally different approach to involve Schools, Colleges, Trade Associations and Government Offices to take this activity in a more practical way to develop their own strategies and to replace talks.
Already MGP has contacted several institutions and printed posters to promote responsible citizenship. Some of them have already developed good ideas.
During the December monthly meeting, participants will be brainstorming ideas to celebrate National Consumer Day (Dec. 24) in a more meaningful way to bring about better governance.
MGP, in a press release, has invited all concerned and interested consumers to participate in the meeting to ensure “we the people, are masters and not servants.” For details contact Ph: 0821-2515150.
