MGP’s monthly meeting on Feb.12

To discuss role of Mysureans in preserving heritage buildings

Mysore/Mysuru: The monthly meeting of Mysore Grahakara Parishat (MGP) will be held on Feb. 12 (Sunday) at 4 pm at MGP Office, Vivekananda Road, Yadavagiri.

During the monthly meeting of MGP in January 2023, there was a great deal of interest shown by the participants and time was not enough to discuss all the aspects of the heritage building conservation. Therefore, it was decided to continue the same topic during the February monthly meeting and have a discussion with two experts — Prof. N.S. Rangaraju of Heritage  Committee  and Prof. Shakeeb Ur Rehman.

“It is unfortunate that despite the critical importance of preserving Mysuru’s rich heritage, it has failed to get the attention it deserves. Now to the long list of heritage sites in the critical list (Devaraja Market, Lansdowne, Maharani’s Science College) which requires immediate intervention, the latest one is Devikere atop the Chamundi Hill. Can the stakeholders sit quiet waiting for the judiciary to decide?,” asks a press release from MGP.

Mysureans with interest and concern for Mysuru’s heritage may participate in the meeting.
