Mysore/Mysuru: With Mysuru city and district suffering extensive damages due to heavy rains in the past one month, District Minister S.T. Somashekar has appealed Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai to sanction a special grant of Rs. 283.35 crore for taking up relief work.
In a letter written to the CM, Somashekar said that following a direction from him (Somashekar), the Deputy Commissioner has come up with a proposal for taking up 48 road repair works at a cost of Rs. 152.5 crore and another Rs. 130.85 crore for executing other repair and re-construction works. As the flood relief works are to be taken up on a war-footing, he appealed the CM to sanction special funds (Rs. 283 crore) to expedite the works.
