Minor girl in Police custody for stealing gold jewellery

Gold ornaments worth Rs. 1 lakh seized

Mysuru: N.R. Police, on July 25, have taken a minor girl into custody who was trying to sell gold ornament at cheaper price near Ganesha Temple in N.R. Mohalla here and have seized the jewellery, weighing about 35 grams and worth Rs. 1 lakh, from her.

During enquiry, the girl is said to have confessed of stealing the gold ornaments from a vanity bag of a woman, who was boarding a bus at City Bus Stand in January. A complaint was lodged at Devaraja Police Station in this regard.

N.R. Inspector T. Ashok Kumar and staff Ramesh, Manjunath, Mahadeva and Anitha took part in the nabbing and seizing operation.
