One nabbed, hunt launched to apprehend others
A petrol pump attendant, who was on his second day of work at Aravind Service Station near Metropole Circle, was assaulted by miscreants with beer bottles who later fled from the spot.
The injured pump attendant has been identified as Bhyra, a resident of Pump Hosahalli near here.
It is reported that at about 12.15 am today, four persons in two bikes came to the petrol bunk. While one bike was refuelled for Rs. 50, another bike was refuelled for Rs. 40 worth petrol.
Soon, wordy duel ensued between the bikers and Bhyra over the change, which resulted in one of the biker picking up an empty beer bottle lying on the footpath and assaulting Bhyra with it before fleeing from the spot.
Devaraja Inspector S. Nagesh and staff, who rushed to the spot on receiving information, checked the CCTV footages, nabbed one miscreant near the Central Jail on Ashoka Road.
Devaraja Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating and have launched a hunt to nab others who are absconding.
